Redesigng Social Democracy

Recent developments have rendered the classical institutions relying on 'Wise men, Backroom meetings and Mutual respect' obsolete while hitherto marginal populist movements suddenly grab vast parts of the electorate.

"This will be more than a footnote in the history of the PvdA"
Felix Rottenberg, Dutch politician, Independent Thinktank

How should a Social Democratic Thinktank communicate and engage with the On-Line world to encourage participation and debate.

Our reframers teamed up with new media researchers, information architects alongsside with the political specialists from the WBS in search for a effective strategy to transform the WBS into a Global Social Democratic Hub: a platform that is open to contributions, participations and collective action for and by anyone who feels like it, whether being Social Democrat or not. The team researched the Social Democratic context and delivered an interaction model plotting presenting, sharing and editing information against  three levels of control resulting in the 9 WBS modes of interaction. The premise is that a truely Social Democrat will neither fear or surpress being open to anyone and should take care that alle 9 modes are adressed with tools, products and media. As a result the WBS website has been completely rebuild along these lines: Using the Drupal Open Source CMS it will  allow users to play, apply for, earn or be invited into certain roles granting them different levels off access and engagement.
